Tsunamis | AI and parenting

Greetings! My name is Rebekah and I am a perpetual student. I live in Chicago and have a husband, 6-year-old daughter and a dog. I'm starting this blog for my marketing class, which is the second to last before I finish my dual MSN/MBA program. Despite the fact that I have been in graduate school for the majority of her life, my daughter is only now realizing that it is happening. The concept of online school is a lot for her to wrap her head around!

This week, I was driving her to school and we talked about what we're learning. As luck would have it, we are both learning about robots. 😆 (If you had told me as a child that this is a world I would live in, I wouldn't have believed you.) While she's learning about the mechanics and motions of physical robots, I am learning that I have been surrounded by them and interacting with them like they are real people for years.

I'm excited to learn more about these bots and how I can use them to make life easier. It's clear from reading the first chapter of Surfing the Tsunami that AI has been here for a long time and is here to stay. It is getting smarter every day, and it is time to work with it to leverage it to my advantage instead of only using it to avoid sitting on hold with the airline. If our children are being taught about it in first grade, it is time to get on the wagon!

While I learn to navigate the AI tsunami, I will continue to try to learn how to navigate my daughter's tsunami of hair. When all is said and done, I am excited to be able to talk robots with her. I'm already making plans for us with all the time I'll save in efficiency!
